چکیده
The method of upper and lower solutions and the method of quasilinearization for a second order nonlinear differential equation −x (t) = f (t, x, x ), t ∈ [0, 1] subject to the separated boundary conditions p0x(0) − q0x (0) = a, p1x(1) + q1x (1) = b, is developed. A monotone sequence of solutions of linear problems converging uniformly and quadratically to a solution of the problem is obtained. c © 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Generalized Quasilinearization Method for a Second Order Ordinary Differential Equation with Dirichlet Boundary Conditions
We study the existence and approximation of solutions for a nonlinear second order ordinary differential equation with Dirichlet boundary value conditions. We present a generalized quasilinearization technique to obtain a sequence of approximate solutions converging quadratically to a solution.
متن کاملGeneralized Quasilinearization for Nonlinear Three-point Boundary Value Problems with Nonlocal Conditions
We apply the generalized quasilinearization technique to obtain a monotone sequence of iterates converging quadratically to the unique solution of a general second order nonlinear differential equation with nonlinear nonlocal mixed three-point boundary conditions. The convergence of order n (n ≥ 2) of the sequence of iterates has also been established.
متن کاملEigenfunction Expansions for Second-Order Boundary Value Problems with Separated Boundary Conditions
In this paper, we investigate some properties of eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of boundary value problems with separated boundary conditions. Also, we obtain formal series solutions for some partial differential equations associated with the second order differential equation, and study necessary and sufficient conditions for the negative and positive eigenvalues of the boundary value problem....
متن کاملNumerical quasilinearization scheme for the integral equation form of the Blasius equation
The method of quasilinearization is an effective tool to solve nonlinear equations when some conditions on the nonlinear term of the problem are satisfied. When the conditions hold, applying this technique gives two sequences of coupled linear equations and the solutions of these linear equations are quadratically convergent to the solution o...
متن کاملGeneralized quasilinearization method for a second order three point boundary-value problem with nonlinear boundary conditions
The generalized quasilinearization technique is applied to obtain a monotone sequence of iterates converging uniformly and quadratically to a solution of three point boundary value problem for second order differential equations with nonlinear boundary conditions. Also, we improve the convergence of the sequence of iterates by establishing a convergence of order k.
